Oh, the places you'll go.

Graduation is probably less than 2 days away. I graduate Thursday March 23, 2013. :] I’m getting excited  and a tad bit emotional, thinking about walking across that stage - hearing my name called. I cant believe I’m finally going to be able to say I’m college educated lol To top it off I can say I’m a grad student!! 

I had my orientation for the masters program if a few weeks ago. It was exciting, turns out our cohort is much smaller. They only accepted 16 of us in the end instead of the 20-25 they usually do. We met some professors, got free food, played games to get to know one another. We also did some personal activities that got a little emotional, but seeing we are planing to be counselors it seemed suitable. Haha. I really connected with a few of my classmates already. I’m persuading some of them to choose the thesis option with me so we can cry in agony asking ourselves “why did we choose to do the thesis and not the comprehensive exam”. I am determined to do the thesis, even it if takes me an extra semester. 

Since I have been out of school since Wednesday of last week, I started reading articles online to help me arrange what I want to do for my thesis. I need to bring in some articles and an idea/outline of what I want my research to be about. ^.^ And as always, I love looking at programs at difficent schools. So my brother, Pedro, and I have been looking at doctoral programs at UCLA, USC, Chapman, and the Claremont Graduate University. Still debating if I want an Ed.D. (Doctor of Education) or a Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy). I’m leaning more for the Ph.D. After looking at the schools it seems like for me, it’s either the Ed.D from USC or the Ph.D from Chapman. Pedro has different choices. We’ll see what happens in 2 years haha. Doesn’t hurt to plan ahead. After all  planning a head got me to where I am at today! :D

Here is my schedule for the fall. I am going to die!! My friends all know I’m a morning person, not a night owl. I sleep around 10-10:30. My classes run too late. ;( This will take some getting used to.
